As the focus on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance intensifies, there is no doubt that the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play an ever-increasing role, and will ultimately have the responsibility of accounting for, reporting on and disclosing non-financial performance in the same way they currently manage financial performance.

A GCX Trend Talk,in association with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), was held on 31 August 2021 with GCX CEO, Kevin James in discussion withSean Doherty from Transaction Capital, Loshni Naidoo from SAICA, and Prof Warren Maroun from the School of Accountancy at the University of the Witwatersrand on the critical role of the CFO in driving ESG performance in companies.
